Volunteer

The Dame Malvina Major Foundation is a charitable organisation run largely on the generosity of its volunteers across the country.

When Dame Malvina established the Foundation in 1991, she reached out to her many friends and contacts throughout New Zealand to set up regional committees. The Foundation now has committees in Auckland, Taranaki, Waikato, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

The focus of the regional committees is on fostering local talent and supporting the development of young emerging artists in their communities. Their work underpins Dame Malvina’s catchphrase “from grassroots to excellence”.

The committees organise local events to showcase young artists and raise funds to assist them to achieve their dreams.

Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds but all have a passion for the performing arts.

If you are interested in getting involved in your regional committee, please get in touch.
