UNITED KINGDOM: Wyn Davies

Wyn Davies served his apprenticeship as repetiteur, chorus master and conductor at Welsh National Opera on leaving university and has since conducted a wide operatic repertoire internationally. He spent two seasons as assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera, New York and undertook two winter seasons for the Banff Centre for the Performing Arts in Canada. Other engagements have included opera in Spain, Japan, Australia and South Africa and many concerts in New Zealand. He has had particularly long associations with Opera North and New Zealand Opera where he was Director of Music from 2005 to 2019.

DUNEDIN: Anna Leese

Currently based in Dunedin, Anna Leese is a Classical Vocal Tutor in the School of Performing Arts, University of Otago. Anna has performed at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Classical Opera Company, Opera Köln, Flanders Opera, Opera Holland Park, Canadian Opera Company, and for New Zealand Opera. A multiple award winner, she has also represented New Zealand in the Cardiff Singer of the World competition.

EUROPE: Martin Snell

Martin Snell is one of New Zealand’s most prominent international bass singers who serves as an overseas consultant to the Trustees and mentor to young artists in Europe. Born and educated in Dunedin, Martin studied law before undertaking postgraduate vocal studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He  has received many awards and scholarships including winning  the 1993 Mobil Song Quest  and a scholarship from the Peter Moores Foundation, London. Based in Germany, Martin has performed in  major concert halls and opera houses of the world including Teatro alla Scala, Milan.

AUSTRALIA: Katherine Wiles

Hamiltonian Katherine Wiles completed a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the University of Auckland, FTCL Voice at Trinity College, London and a Masters (Opera) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Katherine spent many years performing opera, concerts and oratorio in the United Kingdom, Europe and New Zealand. In 2007 she joined the Opera Australia Chorus full time, based at the Sydney Opera House. For the company, Katherine has performed a number of leading, supporting and understudy roles, performed at the Edinburgh Festival and as guest soloist on the Royal Yacht Britannia. In 2016/17, Katherine joined the Ensemble and toured Australia in the 60th Anniversary production of ‘My Fair Lady’ directed by Dame Julie Andrews.
