Natasha Wilson wins DMMF Napier Aria

Soprano Natasha Wilson won the $4,000 first prize in the Dame Malvina Major Foundation Napier Aria 2018 over Easter weekend.

The current Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist with New Zealand Opera edged out a competitive field of young opera singers including finalists Eliza Boom, Pasquale Orchard, Sophie Sparrow, Harry Grigg and Angus Simmons.

Eliza Boom took second place with Sophie Sparrow in third.

This is the first year the Dame Malvina Major Foundation has sponsored the Napier Aria, organised by the Napier Performing Arts Competitions Society.
